More detail on this person: SHREVE, WILLIAM C., Jr. (Age 59) Falls Church Real Estate Businessman Died in his sleep at his home in Falls Church, VA, on February 9, 2002. Mr. Shreve was raised in Falls Church and graduated from George Mason High School in 1961. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1964 and was commissioned a second lieutenant after graduating from the U.S. Army Infantry Officer Candidate School in 1967. He served his country as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of captain. Mr. Shreve's numerous awards included the 1977 Outstanding Young Man of America, Falls Church Chamber of Commerce Pillar of the Community Award in 1982 and Business Person of the Year Award in 1987. He was a former member of the Falls Church Rotary Club, Falls Church Business, Industry and Education Council, and was President of the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce in 1979. William C. Shreve, Jr. is survived by his brothers, John Ellison Shreve, Richard Stanley Shreve, Thomas Garland Shreve and his nieces, Deborah Shreve King, DeeAnn Walton and Darlene Denae Shreve. He was the son of the late William C. Shreve Sr. and Madoline Shreve of Falls Church. He was an excellent amateur photographer and culinary enthusiast. A memorial service will be held at Dulin Methodist Church at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 12, 2002. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the September 11th Victim's Relief Fund. An event in celebration of his life will be scheduled for friends and family in the near future. Published in The Washington Post from Feb. 11 to Feb. 18, 2002
