More detail on this person: Clair Thorne was an old timer in the 227th in 66-67. He is shown as assigned to A/227 but he also served in the gun company, D/227. I was operations officer there. Thorne had flown for the Navy and the Air Force prior to coming into the army. I think the Navy stint was WWII, the AF in Korea. Like a bunch of VHPA members who are now gone, he was one to remember. Gentle man, true pro.
