More detail on this person: Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (GA) - July 2, 2006 Col. (Ret.) Chaplain Harry K. Treude, 88, of Columbus, GA, died Tuesday, June 25, 2006, at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, with Rev. Mitch McGinnis officiating. Interment to follow at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Col. Treude was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 15, 1917, son of the late George Treude and Margaret Kelly Treude. He has lived in Columbus since 1964 and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. After his military career, he taught at Troy State University as a Professor. He was a member of the Military Order World Wars, the Retired Officers Association and the Reserve Officers Association. His wife, Evelyn Kellogg Treude, and a daughter, Meredith Treude, preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Lynne Treude Stenman and her husband David of Edmonds, WA, Dale L. Hawkins and her husband George of Sunrise, FL, and Sharon Treude of Columbus; a son, Jeffery W. Treude and his wife Terry of San Diego, CA; two grandsons, Brian Lambert of Snohomish, WA, and Kelly Treude of Omaha, NE; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Lambert, Jacob Lambert, Benjamin Lambert and Isaac Lambert of Snohomish, WA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Cancer Society of your choice or to your favorite charity in memory of Col. Harry K. Treude.
