Preceded in death by his brother, James Taylor, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dowling Taylor; children, Jenny Stokes (Lex) and Richard F. Taylor, Jr. (Irene); grandchildren, Katie Lynn Stokes, Jenna Stokes, Andrew Taylor, Melissa Taylor, and Evelyn Rose Taylor. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 2 PM, with the Life Celebration Service to follow at 3 PM, followed by entombment in Alabama Heritage Cemetery Mausoleum. Mr. Taylor had been a member of the Retired Officers' Association, Three term President of the Arrowhead Homeowners' Association, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, a professor at Auburn University, AUM, and the University of Alabama.
