More detail on this person: Wymond Thurmond, 76 Obituaries for August 17, 2004 Las Vegas Sun (NV) - Tuesday, August 17, 2004 Wymond Thurmond, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Tennessee. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired Army chief warrant officer 3, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and had earned two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and one Air Medal. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Pat Thurmond of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one daughter, Linda Johnstone of Tucson.
