More detail on this person: EMS helicopter accident 40 miles S.E. Tallahassee, FL. He had retired from the Army as a Major in 1981 with 25 years of service including two combat pilot tours in Vietnam. During his Army career he was highly decorated for his courage, heroism, and flying expertise including the Bronze Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal (with 34 oak clusters).

He was survived by his wife Margaret, three daughters Rhonda Tucker, Brenda Elliot, and Linda Carey; along with one sister, four brothers, and two grandchildren.

On November 4, 1994, en route to pick up a patient at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Perry, Jimmy Tucker, 60, was tragically killed when the helicopter he was flying struck power lines and crashed in Taylor County, Florida. The crash also took the life of crewmember Richard Thompson and severely injured crewmember Trent Robinson.
