"Second Lt William Arthur Thompson, 23, became Parker County's sixth traffic fatality for 1967, when the car he was driving was involved with a collision with a truck-tractor and a semi-trailer eight tenths of a mile east of Weatherford on U.S. 80 at 12:35 a.m. Saturday morning. Highway Patrolman H.C. Tinsley said the accident occurred at a crossover just east of the Red Barn Café. Lt. Thompson, who was [in] the Student Officer Company at Fort Wolters, was reported dead on arrival at Campbell Memorial Hospital. He was a native of San Pedro, CA. Thompson's wife and children reside at 3625 C. Winthrop in Fort Worth. The driver of the 1958 white truck-tractor and semi-trailer, Roger Lynn Braadley, 24 of 308 Case Street in Weatherford was treated for shock at Campbell Memorial Hospital and released."
