More detail on this person: David Preston Usher DEATH NOTICE / CLASSIFIED Akron Beacon Journal (OH) - Wednesday, March 19, 1997 David Preston Usher, 57, of Westport, Ct., died March 15, 1997, on Long Island Sound, in a canoeing accident. Mr. Usher was born in New Bedford, Mass., and graduated from Dartmouth College. He received his MBA from Columbia University and was involved with a pilot program with Harvard University Business School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served as a captain in the U.S.M.C., as well as a member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco, Calif. Mr. Usher was most well known as founder and owner of the Greenwich Workshop. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Carrie Usher, and Christopher D. and Bridget Usher, all of Bridgeport; daughters, Elizabeth U. and husband, Michael Zadrovicz, of Stratford, and Kimberly E. Usher and fiance, Benjamin Sohr, of San Francisco, Calif.; granddaughters, Alyssa and Hannah Zadrovicz; a beloved companion, Gay Anderson, of Westport. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 21, 1997, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Rd., Fairfield, with Pastor Bennett Brockman officiating. Interment will be private. The LESKO FUNERAL HOME, 1209 POST RD., FAIRFIELD CENTER, has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations may be made to either American Cancer Association, 1175 Post Rd. E., Westport, Conn. 06880; or the Stephen Lyman/Greenwich Workshop Wilderness Fund, c/o Greenwich Workshop, One Greenwich Plaza, Shelton, Conn. 06484.
