He was born in Tucson and was a retired Army chief warrant officer 3rd class. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Vega; daughters, Katrina Korsten, Carolyn Waddell, Jacqueline Petito and Cynthia Nicolaisen; sons, Nicholas Vega II, Isaac Vega and Augustine Vega; sisters, Jeanette Dutcher and Isabella Jorgenson; brother, John Vega; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Dec. 27, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Cabrillo Memorial Drive, Point Loma.
