More detail on this person: Claude H. "Woody" Woodhull Claude H. "Woody" Woodhull, aged 68, of Miami, FL and a former Mattituck, NY resident, died September 6, 2013 after an unexpected illness. He was born in Mattituck, NY on January 15, 1945, and was an accomplished pilot for most of his life. Mr. Woodhull flew Chinooks for the U.S. Army, with tours in Vietnam and Germany, and continued his aviation career as a captain for numerous non-scheduled airlines, transporting passengers and cargo around the world. He also piloted tour planes for notable passengers including the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Neil Diamond. Mr. Woodhull also enjoyed restoring and flying antique aircraft. Family members said his love of flying and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him, in and out of the cockpit. Mr. Woodhull is survived by his wife, Donna; his son, Zachary; and his daughters, Amy and Victoria. Arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes. A celebration of life will be held in Miami. Burial with military honors will take place at Laurel Cemetery. Father Thomas P. Murray will officiate and military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army. Published by The Suffolk Times on September 10 & November 5, 2013
