More detail on this person: EDDIE L. WATSON EDDIE L. WATSON Dothan Eagle, The (AL) - Saturday, September 17, 2011 Eddie L. Watson Ed (Eddie) L. Watson of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at his home. He was 71. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with a Military Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alabama Chapter, 200 Cahaba Park Circle West, Suite 114, Birmingham, AL 35242. Ed entered the US Army at the age of 18 and served his country proudly for over 21 years, serving in Korea, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Germany as well as many bases stateside before finally retiring in Enterprise. He received many medals and accommodations over the course of his service to include one Silver Star, a Bronze Star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross, Good Conduct Medal, Army Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, 61 Air Medals, 1 Air Medal with Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Unit Accommodation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Unit Accommodation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Meritorious Service Accommodation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf Cluster. Ed loved his country, community, family and friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Carol Watson, Panama City, FL; daughter, Donna rae Watson, Tucson, AZ; son, John Lee Watson, Enterprise, AL; brother, Joe Watson, Wetumpka, AL; three grandchildren, Johnathon, Carolyn and Zachary; dear and special friend, Betty Clande, Enterprise, AL; step-sons Rob Watson and his wife, Missy, Panama City, FL; Eric Watson and his wife, Courtney, Montgomery, AL; step-daughter, Jessica Watson, Richmond, VA; adopted daughter, Claudia Zarbo, Enterprise, AL. Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 393-2273, is in charge of arrangements
