More detail on this person: James A. Wolfe 08/05/99 James Allison Wolfe, 51, 1609 Lake Drive Ext., Johnson City, died Tuesday, August 3, 1999, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. Mr. Wolfe was a native of St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, and had been a resident of the United States since age 7 and of Johnson City the past 23 years. He was a son of Allison M. Wolfe, South Portland, Maine, and Reta Coakley Wolfe, Gorham, Maine. Mr. Wolfe attended the University of Maine before enlisting in the Army. He had served as an Army helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross on two separate occasions, plus several commendation medals with Valor, including The Bronze Star. He was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the Helicopter Association International. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Johnson City. Mr. Wolfe was the co-founder of Edwards & Associates, Inc., Aeronautical Accessories, Inc., and Aeronautical Plastics, Inc. He and his son owned Wolfe Racing and he was also co-owner of Principal Investment Company and Rotor Blades, Inc. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Gloria Mondragon Wolfe; three daughters and a son, Christina Russell, Catherine Wolfe, Rebecca Wolfe and Matt Wolfe, all of the home; and a brother, Danny Wolfe, Gorham, Maine. Twin grandsons and several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. WOLFE -- Mass of Christian Burial for James Allison Wolfe, 51, 1609 Lake Drive Ext., Johnson City, who died Tuesday, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Johnson City. Father Bill Gahagan will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Burial Park. Active pallbearers will be Paul Schreuder, David Whiting, Dan Pope, Eran Ben-Or, Wade Day and Cress Horne. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob McNab, Danny Wolfe, Wayne Hoyt, Charlie Smith, Larry Edmisten, Mickey Jilton and members of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 1808 West End Avenue, Suite 514, Nashville, Tenn. 37203. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by Deacon Joe McMahon. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements.
