He was born December, 21, 1943 in Harlan KY to the late Shirley Augusta Whitfield and Jesse George Whitfield Sr. of Harlan. He currently served as president of Cloverfork Coal Company, a board of director of Kentucky Mine Supply and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He was a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Army and received the Silver Star flying helicopters in the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Marie Lambert Whitfield of Harlan, a daughter, Ashley Whitfield Wesley and her husband, Joseph Thomas Wesley, of Danville KY; a brother, Jesse George Whitfield Jr., of Mobile AL; a sister, Mary Whitfield de Vachon of Nice, France; Nephews include Jesse George Whitfield III, William Darby Lambert IV, Donal Matthews Lambert; Nieces, Elizabeth Whitfield Jennings, Margaret Whitfield Mann, Mary Whitfield Edmonds, Marine Shirley de Vachon; Grand Nephews Alexander Whitfield Jennings; Grand Nieces Emily Katherine Jennings, Taylor Renee Mann. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6 at Christ Episcopal Church. Funeral services for William Thomas Whitfield will be Saturday, December 6 at 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith. Military Honors will be observed by the Harlan County Honor Guard In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O.
