More detail on this person: Ivan (Bob) Webb, Jr. Ivan (Bob) Webb, Jr., age 81, of Richlands, Va., died on Sunday, October 28, 2007 in a Richlands, Va. hospital. Born June 22, 1926 in North Holston, Va., he was the son of the late Ivan R. Webb and Mary Lamie Webb. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943. During his 26 years of service he served in Germany, Ethiopia and two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Air medal with 8 oak clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with sixty device and Senior Army Aviator Badge. He retired as a Major in 1969. He also served as a colonel with the VADF and received the Virginia Defense Force Distinguished Service Medal. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, remote control airplanes as well as being an avid bowler and ham radio operator. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice "Peggy" Joyce Webb; daughters, Rhonda Taylor and husband David of Benicia, Calif., Sheree Ko and husband John of Fair Oaks, Calif., Tammie Nelson and husband Charlie of Payette, Idaho. He also has five grandchildren, one step-grandson and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Jackie Strickler officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Joe Adair, Danny Taylor, Tom Addison, Bill Ray Joyce, R.C. Roberts, Ronnie McGlothlin, Bill Belcher and Harry McGlothlin. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Casey-Shortt VFW Post 9640. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday (today) at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 209, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609, the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, P.O. Box 454, Richlands, VA 24641, RAMA, P.O. Box 173, Richlands, VA 24641, or the charity of your choice.
