More detail on this person: Chief Warrant Officer 3 J.C. Watson Retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 J.C. Watson, a resident of Dothan and formerly of Skipperville, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Flowers Hospital. He was 68. Celebration of Life services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor H.D. Shumake officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark with full military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 Attn: Gift Processing. Mr. Watson was born Oct. 2, 1939, in Skipperville to John C. and Ethel Outlaw Watson. CW 3 Watson served in Vietnam, where he piloted his beloved UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) helicopter. After returning to the United States, he served at Fort Rucker for many years as an instructor pilot. Forced to retire due to health reasons, he never lost the love he had for the Army or his country he so proudly served. Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jay Lee Watson; four brothers, B. Floyd Watson, Jack Watson, Jim Joyce Watson and John C. Watson. Survivors include his wife, Jackie S. Watson, Dothan; three daughters and sons-in law, Alita Kimberly Watson (Richard), Joplin, Mo., Wendy Smith (Lowell), Dothan, Stephanie Wilson (Phillip), Dothan; nine grandchildren, Chesley, Amber, Robert, Binky, Desire', Destiny, Isaac, Chase, Noah; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
