More detail on this person: Edward Leroy Watson Edward Leroy Watson Corpus Christi Caller-Times (TX) - Sunday, August 29, 2010 Died: 8/27/2010 WATSON Edward Leroy Watson, 64, ended his Earthly life and entered eternal rest on August 27, 2010. He courageously battled leukemia and lymphoma, diseases caused by Agent Orange exposure gained while serving as a Marine fighter pilot in Vietnam. Edward was born on July 17, 1946 in Alice, Texas. He was raised in San Diego, Texas, and later graduated from the University of Texas. Edward served as a United States Marine for eight years. He was a Federal Probation Officer for twenty years before retiring. For ten years he worked as the Adult Religious Education Director and was an active and devoted parishioner of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Edward is preceded in death by his mother, Margarita Garcia Rangel, and his sister, Ada Watson Soulas. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly thirty-one years, Oralia 'Lali' Watson, of Corpus Christi, Texas; he leaves behind three daughters who will forever cherish his memory: Kimberly Davis of McAllen, Texas, Celina (Denny) Meline of McAllen, Texas, and Sarah Watson of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren: Julia and Brian Meline; and numerous extended family and great friends; he was also blessed with many A.C.T.S. brothers and sisters who kept a prayerful watch on him and his family. Edward's strength, humor, generosity, and faith will be missed by all who knew him. We believe he has made his final flight west into the setting sun. Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful). A special thank you to Dr. Michael Nash, M.D., Dr. Gerard W. Boynton, M.D., Dr. Bill Dennis, M.D., and all of the Doctors and Nurses at Doctors Regional Hospital who took excellent care of Edward. Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas at 4:30 p.m, August 30, 2010.
