More detail on this person: CPT Robert Walker was the Aeroscout Platoon Leader for D/2/1 CAV. On April 1, 1970, during the battle of Song Mao CPT Walker was shot down on three seperate occassions while searching for elements of three NVA and VC regiments that attacked Song Mao the previous evening. During his tour in Viet Nam CPT Walker was shot down on 15 different occassions.

When Bob left the military he managed several different restaurants in the Houston, TX area over a 12 year period. From 1984 through 2005 he moved to Ormond Beach, FL. Bob started his own business and worked as a Private Investigator from 1984 through 2005. He was forced to retire when he learned that he had breast cancer. After a strict regiment of chemotherapy he was cancer free for a year and a half. In April of 2007 he was involved in a serious car accident after passing out at the wheel. During tests it was learned that the cancer had matastasized in his brain. Bob passed away peacefully on 11/16/07.

Bob was not only a great Platoon Leader but a great friend as well. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a week with him in July of 07. I'll never forget him and what he did in service of his country.
