More detail on this person: Obituary for Robert Lawrence White III Robert Lawrence White, III, age 76, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away on January 17, 2012 at Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital. He was a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and retired as a Full Colonel with the United States Army. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lawrence White, Jr. and Elizabeth Whitner Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy Harwell White of Guntersville, Alabama; son, William Christopher (Denise) White of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Karen White of Reston, Virginia; and one sister, Beth (Bobby) Thompson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A gathering of family and friends will take place in Murfreesboro. A memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
