"Jim" Williams, 55, St. Augustine, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he served in the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army, as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He retired in 1981 as a lieutenant colonel after 22 years of service. He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. John Hunter, pastor, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the American Cancer Society, POB 5355, St. Augustine, 32085. Survivors include his wife, Susan Williams, his mother, Vivian Williams, a daughter, Lindsay A. Sparrow, all of St. Augustine; three sons, James S. Williams, Richmond, Ky., Joseph P. Williams, San Diego, Calif., Jeremy M. Williams, Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Ginny) Craig, Jo Williams, both of St. Augustine; and one grandson, Paxton Stewart Williams, Richmond. Craig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge.
