More detail on this person: Travis L. Walker Sr. Huntsville Times, The (AL) - Wednesday, June 4, 1997 Travis L. Walker Sr., 65, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Bicentennial Chapel with the Rev. Laurence Dill officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Baptist Church in Etowah County, Ala., at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Travis Ledbetter and the Rev. Jerry McCright officiating with Laughlin Service Funeral Home directing. Mr. Walker was a retired Army colonel with 30 years service. His most recent post was chief of staff at MICOM. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross Bronze Star and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Paul. He was Jacksonville State University Alumni of the Year. After retiring from the service, he worked as a senior vice president for the EC Corp. Surivors include his wife, Louise Walker; one daughter, Janice Walker Small of Marietta, Ga.; one son, Travis L. Walker Jr. of Marietta; his mother, Lora Walker of Altoona; two sisters, Carolyn Henderson of Ashville, Ala., and Janice Lister of Altoona; one brother, Marvin Walker of Gadsden; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
