More detail on this person: Major, Jay Leroy Warnick Major, Jay Leroy Warnick, Retired, age 68 of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. He was born June 5, 1943 in Kistler, PA., the son of the late Allen Warnick and Beryl Avis Gladfelder Warnick. Major Warnick retired from the U. S. Army after 20 years of service and after his retirement spent numerous years in the banking business. He also served as a paraprofessional for Carrollton City Schools. Major Warnick was an avid sportsman and an usher as well as a member of Christ Fellowship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Warnick. Survivors include his wife, Ann Singleton Warnick; daughter and son in law, Angie & Russ Barnes of Whitesburg; son and daughter, Stacey & Rita Thompson of Carrollton; sisters and brother in law, Sherry Flasher and Jan & Clair Flasher all of Mt. Union, PA.; grandchildren, Connor Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Sarah Barnes, Garrett Barnes and Sean Thompson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2 PM from Christ Fellowship with Rev. Marc Limbaugh officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the ushers of the church. Interment will follow in Harmony Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Heflin, AL., with full military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 PM until 8 PM.
