More detail on this person: James R Weaver, Class 67-5, Green Hat, which had been one of the largest WOC classes to start at Fort Wolters. Jim passed away from pneumonia and COPD September 13th 2013, one day short of their 49th wedding Anniversary. Jim had been a Marine from Sept 1955 to Sept 1959 and then saw the error of his way and entered into the Army. Jim married the love of his life Ursula on Sept. 14th 1964. Jim's son Mike, who is a Lt Col and also a helicopter pilot with the Minnesota National Guard and a daughter Nichole. Jim went to Ft Riley out of flight school and was sent to Detroit with the 17th Avn Co in July 1967 during the riots in Detroit. Jim also transitioned into fixed wing and on in to the Mohawk. Jim had been assigned to the 73rd MI Co. Thanks to the VA Hospital in Minneapolis for all of the excellent care that Jim received during his finally days.
