Welch III, 50, of Marshalls Creek died Monday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Pamela P. (Petersen) Welch. He was a shop foreman for Star Pontiac, Easton, for the past eight years. Born in Monmouth, N.J., he was a son of Michael F. Jr. and Evelyn (Worth) Welch of Brick, N.J. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served three tours of duty in Vietnam as a captain and with the Green Berets. He received numerous decorations and served as a helicopter pilot and on gun ships. Welch built and raced high-performance street cars. Survivors: Wife and parents; son Michael of Dover, N.J.; brother Richard of East Stroudsburg and maternal grandmother, Elsie Worth of Bricktown, N.J. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
