More detail on this person: He was born in Charleston, SC on Nov 4, 1942, and graduated from St Andrews High School. He joined the US Army and was first stationed in Fort Jackson, SC. He, among many other things, was in the Norfolk Air Defense Command and the Philadelphia Air Defense Command. He went to flight school and served two tours in Vietnam. He was in Vietnam less than 30 days during his first tour and was shot down, he recieved the Purple Heart. He also earned the Bronze Star with Qak Cluster. Upon returning for his second tour, he recieved the Distinguished Flying Cross Award. Leaving Vietnam he was stationed in Alaska and recieved the Legion of Merit Award. He then went to Ft. Rucker, Ala., and flew for the US Precision Demo Team with the Silver Eagle Helicopters. He was also a flight examiner at Fort Rucker. After serving 20 years in the Army, A.P retired and was presently the owner/operator of CAT V charters in Carrabelle. He is survuved by his wife, Becky, of Lanark; three daughters, Jo Ann Taylor (and husband Billy) of Newport and Lynn Mayfield (and husband Jimmy) of Crawfordville, Kelly Hall (and husband Greg) of Wichita; a son Jud (and wife Heather) Millerr of Jacksonville; eight grandsons, Michael James Mayfield (and wife Krista) of Fort Gordon, GA., Jimmy Lee Mayfield (and Mallorie) of Crawfordville, and Trey and Trevor Taylor of Newport, John Henry and Eli Miller of Jacksonville, Charlie and Jack Hall of Wichita; and one greatson, Camden Mayfield; and two great-granddaughters, Charlie and Brylee Mayfield; one sister, Alice Dockendorff (and husband Bill) of Palm Harbor; and a niece, Cheri L Dockendorff of Trapon Springs.
