More detail on this person: J L Whitaker, 76 DEATHS El Paso Times (TX) - Saturday, April 15, 2000 J.L. Whitaker, 76, of El Paso died Thursday (April 13, 2000). Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday in Martin Funeral Home-Central, with rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Martha E. his sons, Armando Torres, Wiley Whitaker, Dennis Whitaker and Craig Whitaker his daughter, Therese Johnson and seven grandchildren. He was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and had earlier served in the Army. He lived in El Paso for 75 years.
