Joe Jack Wilson, 63, of Enterprise were at 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 22, 2003 at the chapel of Patterson-Sorrels Funeral Home with the Revs. Glenn Pippens and Bruce Sheffield officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, PO Box 311103, Enterprise, AL 36331-1103. Maj. Wilson died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the family residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 15, 1939 in Houston, Texas. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War where he received among other medals, the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Stars as well as the Master Army Aviator. He retired in 1984. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Wilson of Enterprise; three daughters, Kelly M. Monaghan (Dale) of Enterprise, Amy E. Shullick (Troy) of Italy, and Tracy Jo Halley (Don) of Oklahoma; one son, William L. Doran (Ellen) of Enterprise; two sisters, Donna Jonecka of Wichita Falls, Texas and Lannie Lindelof of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, Ashley, Garrett, Sarah, Isa, Grant and Tyler Joe; and several nieces and nephews.
