More detail on this person: Max H Wilson Max joined the National Guard following high school and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he earned a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received numerous medals and commendations during his twenty-three years of active service. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Vietnam, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He earned the Senior Army Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, four Overseas Bars, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He was rotary and fixed wing qualified and flew helicopters while serving in two deployments to Vietnam. Max H. Wilson, Major, United States Army retired in 1973. He moved to Henderson, NC., where he began a second career in farming and real estate.
