More detail on this person: Frank B. Winn A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in Willamette National Cemetery for Frank B. Winn, who died Feb. 3 of cancer at age 67. Mr. Winn was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Montgomery County, Tenn. He worked on the family farm until he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He became one of the Army's youngest master sergeants. He served two combat tours with the 27th Infantry in Korea. He became a second lieutenant and an Army aviator, being stationed at various posts across the country and overseas. During the Vietnam War, he served two additional combat tours. He received several awards during his 31-year military career, including the Bronze Star with Valor and the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry with Bronze Star. In 1978, he became senior Army adviser for the Oregon National Guard. He retired as colonel in 1983 and started West Winn Products, an air freight berry shipping business. In 1955, he married Jeanne Leinaala Counts. Survivors include his wife; sons, Frank of Olympia, Christopher of Gresham and Anthony of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; daughter, Kathleen Winn of Uzeste, France; and brothers, Raymond of Springfield, Tenn., Jerry of Clarksville, Tenn., David of Marion, Ky., and Robert of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements are by Gresham Funeral Chapel. The family suggests remembrances to Providence Cancer Research Center.
