More detail on this person: Clement A. Wyllie, Jr. Clement A. Wyllie, Jr., age 81, retired U.S. Army Colonel, died August 6, 2009. He retired from the United States Army in January 1979 after 35 years of active duty. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His decorations include the Legion of Merit with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal with Seventeen Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star, Vietnamese Air Service Medal, Vietnamese Honor Medal First Class, and the Royal Thai Honorary Army Aviation Badge. He was inducted into the Infantry Officer's Hall of Fame at Fort Benning, Ga. in December 1972. He was a qualified Master Army Aviator and Parachutist. From 1981 through 1996, he was employed as Vice President International with Telemedia Inc., Chicago, Ill. He received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California and was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the Society of the Pen and Sword, the Chicago Athletic Association, and the Cleveland Country Club. He was preceded in death by his father Clement A. Wyllie, Sr. and his mother Gertrude Steed Wyllie. Survivors include his loving wife Aileen Stout Wyllie, son Russ A. (Jennifer) Wyllie, Fairfax Station, Va., daughter Elizabeth Wyllie (Gary) Cardin, Madisonville, and grandchildren Andrew Wyllie, Aubrey Cardin, McFerrin Wyllie, and Elise Cardin. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Cleveland, Tenn. on August 11, with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM in the Parish Hall and the service beginning at 4:00 PM in the church. Services will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, Cleveland, Tenn. Grissom Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
