More detail on this person: Colonel Robert R Weber, 67 OBITUARIES Capital, The (Annapolis, MD) - Wednesday, July 12, 1995 Funeral and burial services were held this afternoon at Providence Baptist Church in Clayhatchee, Ala., for retired Air Force Col. Robert R. Weber, 67, a former resident of Annapolis, who died Sunday at his home in Campbellton, Fla., after a lengthy illness. Born in Annapolis and educated in local schools, Col. Weber had lived in Florida since 1986. He served for more than 24 years in the Air Force in a variety of operational and command positions. He flew B-29 bombers during the Korean War and then went on to become a helicopter pilot. He served as an instructor pilot in several training squadrons from 1956 to 1961. From 1962 to 1965, he served as a flight commander, operations officer and then as commander of the 1001st helicoper squadron at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington. In 1966, he volunteered for duty in Vietnam where he flew 75 missions. His decorations and awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster and the Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis. Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Pouncey Weber; one daughter, Lisa Weber-Cowen of Crofton; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Patti N. Fry of Annapolis, and Mary Lou Carr of Murfreesboro, N.C. Arrangements are by the James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville, Fla.
