Additional information about this casualty:
The co-pilot killed in this air craft (in the front ) was my nephew Ist. Lt. Ronald Benton Rueppel, born March 30, 1948 at Moscow, Idaho, age 23 1/2 years. We got what was told to us his body but no one got to see it, the casket was sealed and his father requested his friend that escorted his body home look at Rons body, the funeral chappel did not want to open the casket but the officers in charge of the funeral told them " You will open it " His friend said the body "RON" was bound and he could not see any part of him. He said his uniforn was folded up on the chest area and he layed Rons wedding ring in the uniform, Ron had left his ring with his wife and told her "if anything should happen to me please put my ring on me, (that could not be done but up on his chest was best that could be done. He was so very important to our family and we loved him then, now and forever. aunt Shirley Tenwick Moscow, Idaho
