Additional information about this casualty:
As my memory serves me: Mr. Stuck was on Stand-down, for outprocessing, with less than ten days until DEROSing back to CONUS. He was serving an extension of his tour. He had volunteered that morning to fly on a local area gun-support mission. The light fireteam returned to Soc Trang to rearm and refuel. As it was near lunch and they were going to return to the AO , they shut down just off the active. To allow clearance for incoming fixed-wing they parked in close trail rather than at an angle. Larry exited the lead AC and was standing there waiting on the other crew members to go for chow. A round had remained (jammed) in one of the miniguns on the trail aircraft. It discharged striking Mr. Stuck. He died instantly. E. Earl Caddell Warrior 1, 336th Aslt Hel Co. (1/69-9/69) Delta 44, 164th Avn GP (9/69-12/69)
