Additional information about this casualty:
I was in a different aircraft, he was near the river west of the fire base. He came under heavy fire from a 50 cal, the aircraft and crew took several hits, unfortunately, Cpt Sundquist, who was a fine individual, was struck in the chest with a 50 cal. The rest of the crew managed to get the aircraft back to the fire base, then we took Cpt Sundquist to Dong Ha to the medevac pad, but unfortunately, he had been dead since the round struck him. He had died instantly. I saw the report said small arms fire, but trust me, it was 50 cal, I took him to Dong Ha. Wayne Phipps, sarge3@bright.net
