War Story:
Aircraft was struck by an RPG which landed in the crew chief section, killing SSGT James Dorsey. Steve Brownell was flying the aircraft when it was struck. He was wounded by shrapnel. John Romer and O'Herron were both lightly injured in the resulting crash. They were landing in the upper LZ of Don Ngai Mountain in the Northeastern A Shau Valley. This upper LZ would become Firebase Airborne, in time for supporting Operation Apache Snow (aka, Hamburger Hill).
