Accident Summary:

 THE CREW OF AH-1G, SN 68-15211, WAS ON A DIRECT COMBAT SUPPORT MISSION ON 14 OCT 70. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING FLOWN FROM BEARCAT, RVN, TO BIEN HOA AIR BASE TO STAND-BY TO COVER A SCHEDULED ASSAULT. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED BEARCAT AT 0720 HOURS ENROUTE TO BIEN HOA AIR BASE. AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 HOURS THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING LOW LEVEL OVER THE RIVER 7 KILOMETERS EAST OF PHU LOI, RVN. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OBSERVED FLYING CLOSE TO THE WATER AND THEN SEEN TO CRASH INTO THE WATER. THE AH-1G WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND THERE WERE TWO FATALITIES.\\
