War Story:
Unauthorized flight by unqualified individual.

I remember clearly the day SP4 Benny Hart died (Chinook 66-19075 April 4, 1971). We (the pilots) were sitting outdoors at picnic tables having dinner, when someone first saw the Chinook "hovering" high above the base (Phu Loi), obviously out of control. None of us (the pilots) were scheduled to be flying, so the initial reaction was the Chinook belonged to another Company. We all saw it come tumbling down, and crash outside the perimeter.
