Accident Summary:
The aircraft picked up to a hover and backed out. The tail rotor came in contact with the main rotor of a parked aircraft causing loss of the tail rotor and caused the aircraft main rotor to hit the ground. The aircraft came to rest on its right side. A fragment of one of the main rotor blades struck the crew chief seated in the copilot seat.
