Description: The 121st AVN reported that pilots from the UTT Co began classes for Soc Trang's new Armed Platoon. The 13 volunteers for the new platoon were instrcuted on operation of the aircraft and emergency procedures, but emphasis was placed on tactical utilization in support of air and ground activities. Flying and gunnery was part of the instruction and ranges were designated for gunnery practice. Pilots not qualified in the UH-1B and assigned to the slick platoons began going to Vinh Long for transition training.
