Description: The 121st AVN reported that night, the Company was jarred awake by a VC mortar attack. ARVN mortar crews stationed at Soc Trang reacted immediately and returned fire at suspected VC positions. The attack ended after 34 rounds had been fired into the compound. Little damage to aircraft or post facilities was sustained and no injuries were reported.
