Location, Chu Pong Mountains
Description: A search and destroy/reconnaissance in force type operation conducted by the 1st and 3d Brigades, 1st Cav Division and the 3rd Brigade, 25th Inf Division in the vicinity of Plei Me and the Chu Pong Mountains in Pleiku and Darlac Provinces against the same VNA units that had participated in the battle of the Ia Drang Valley. Casualties: US KIA 51, WIA 136; NVA 522 KIA, 18 POWs.
