Description: At 0935, CH-46s from HMM-164 and HMM-265 inserted three companies of 2d Battalion, 4th Marines into LZ Dove about three miles to the northeast of LZ Crow. According to plan, this force moved toward LZ Crow. Late in the afternoon the battalion at LZ Crow reported that they were surrounded by NVA. One of its companies stood off several attacks that night and the next morning counted 25 NVA, some only five yards away from their perimeter.
