Location, northwest of Chu Lai
Description: Operation COLORADO/LIEN KET 52 was a multi-battalion search and destroy operation, conducted by units from the 5th Marine, 1st Marine Div and the 2d ARVN Div about 30 miles west-northwest of Chu Lai in Quang Tin and Quang Nam provinces. The goal was to locate and destroy the 2d NVA Div (AKA 620th NVA Div) believed to have moved into the strategic Que Son region. Both allied regiments established collocated headquarters for the operation at Tam Ky. The allies claimed 674 known enemy casualties.
