Description: This was the first major operation for the recently operational 199th Light Inf Bde. It was a year long pacification effort with the 5th ARVN Ranger Group that foreshadowed the Vietnamization program of later years. It consisted of a series of "double force" operations ranging from village searches to night ambushes conducted jointly with the Ranger's sharing growing as time wore on.
