Description: The 2/503d Abn, 173d Abn Bde helped spearhead JUNCTION CITY with a battalion sized parachute drop neat Katum, a hamlet just south of the Cambodian border and about 40 miles north of Tay Ninh. Once of the ground, the 1/503d and the 4/503d made airmobile landings north and south of the 2/503d to seal off the brigade's section of the JUNCTION CITY horseshoe.
