2/503 ABN

For date 671118

2/503 ABN was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Operation MACARTHUR
South Vietnam
Description: As part of MAC ARTHUR, the 26th SF Mobile Reaction (Mike) Company ran into a large NVA force entrenched on the east slope of Hill 875, about 12 miles west of Dak To. The 174th NVA Regt manned this bunker complex which included connecting tunnels. The complex had been built three to six months earlier so the jungle provided excellant natural camouflage. The Mike Co backed off and the next day the 2/503d ABN drew the job of clearing Hill 875.
