Description: A/7/17 Cav reported they conducted reconnaissance in various AO's for the 2d Bde, 4th Inf Div. Significant activities included the insertion of their Blues with B and D Troop's infantry into the Chu Phong Mountains to sweep to the north and northwest. The lack of contact indicated the VC and NVA were not occuping the mountains in any great numbers. They captured two VC males plus some documents indicated the presence of the 200th Arty Bn west of Pleiku city. Results for the entire operation included 4 NVA KIA's, capture of 1,500 pounds of rice, and a packet of documents.
