Description: The following is an edited version from the "1967 Action Summarized" column that appeared in the 20 Jan 1968 issue. Officials from the 25th Inf Div revealed that during military operations in 1967, a total of 1,856 enemy soldiers were killed and 989 individual and 55 crew-served weapons were captured. U.S. infantrymen also destroyed 219,416 rounds of small arms ammunition and 23,789 rounds of high-explosive ordnance. Two hundred fifty-one detainees were taken during the year. More than 1350 tons of rice were uncovered, evacuated and distributed to needy Vietnamese. This much rice would feed seven enemy battalions for approximately one year.
