Operation NIAGARA II
Quang Tri Province, I Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Khe Sanh Combat Base
Description: Was the one of the most concentrated applications of aerial firepower in the history of warfare designed to destroy the NVA forces surrounding Khe Sanh. In all about 2,000 aircraft would be used from the B-52 to A-1 plus several thousand helicopters. It was controlled by "Sky Spot", an airborne computer control center and a single manager for air based at Tan Son Nhut. As many as 800 aircraft were controlled at one time.
