Description: Assigned the mission of severing the main enemy infiltration and supply routes, the 3d Bde 1st Cav air assaulted into an LZ 6 miles northwest of Hue. Three days later, following a grueling night march through ankle-deep water, stormed a hill four miles west of the city and immediately began shelling NVA positions in the valley below.
