Description: A/7/17 Cav reported inserting their Blues to check out a suspected enemy position. They soon made contact with an estimated NVA battalion. D Troop was inserted to reinforce the Blues and this force remained in contact throughout the day. Six air strikes were employed and their Guns expended several times. At 1815H, 4th Inf Div units were inserted to further develop the situation; however up to this time 23 NVA had been killed, 7 captured, 31 packs, two B-40 rocket launchers, 10 60mm mortar rounds, 1,000 AK-47 rounds and several land mines had been captured. A Troop's Blues remained on the ground that night.
